Mark your calendars and prime your taste buds for some great south Indian food at the Red Herring, courtesy Asha- UC. Remember that all proceeds from these dinners help the education of underprivileged children in India.

WHERE: Red Herring (At the corner of Mathews and Oregon)

Pani Puri- $3.00

-Shells of wheat flour filled with a spicy mix of potatoes and tamarind water.

Plain Dosas
- $3.00

- a crepe with a rice and lentil base that is served with Sambar (a soup made with lentils, vegetables and spices). For any South Indian, the world isn't an illusion, its simply made of Dosas!

Masala Dosa- $5.00

-a dosa with a stuffing of a spicy potato and onion mix.

Venn Pongal - $ 3.00

- A rice dish studded with pepper and cumin, that makes for an enviable couple with the sambar.

Puliyogare (a.k.a Tamarind Rice) - $3.00

-a tangy twisty rice dish in a tamarind sauce sauteed with peanuts and mustard seeds

Curd Rice - $2.00

- Nostalgia grows with fermentation- a south indian favourite of yoghurt with rice

Mango Drink - $1.00
