Sambar re- opens for the Spring semester on February 5th 2008. So mark your calendars and prime your taste buds for some great south Indian food at the Red Herring, courtesy Asha- UC.
Remember that all proceeds from these dinners help the education of underprivileged children in India.

WHEN: FEBRUARY 5th, 2008
TIME: 6.30PM- 8.30PM
WHERE: Red Herring (At the corner of Mathews and Oregon)

Plain Dosas - $3.00

- a crepe with a rice and lentil base that is served with Sambar (a soup made with lentils, vegetables and spices). For any South Indian, the world isn't an illusion, its simply made of Dosas!

Masala Dosa- $5.00

-a dosa with a stuffing of a spicy potato and onion mix.

Pesarattu- $4.00

- a more mellow version of crepes that inherits a verdant aura from lush green lentils

Coconut rice- $3.00

- Our top selling rice dish made with white rice, coconut and seasoning.

Thaali- $5.00

- the thread that ties together white rice, with zucchini kootu, Potato fry and sambar

- Zucchini plattered onto a lentil base with the distinct aroma of cumin seeds and coconut

Mango Kulfi- $2.00

- Our hottest selling dessert, an Indian version of ice cream in mango flavour
